I would (briefly) like to make a (brief, but spirited) plug for all in the Portland area and the greater Northwest to come to Multnomah Bible College every morning this week at 10am to hear the modern-day prophet, John Perkins, speak on matters of racial reconciliation in the context of the church. His moving talk this morning showed a great deal of courage (in that he called each of us out on our unofficially segregated churches, branding them heretical) as well as a staggering display of conviction. His passion for racial reconciliation is at worst, infectious, and at best, life-changing. May we all learn from his example and his powerful words.
While I have not had a chance to check out any of his several books, I certainly plan on it.
